About Kaffee Katze:
It began with GP Xocol Willamina of Kaffee Katze…
Our family became fascinated by the Havana Brown breed after volunteering with a Pure Bred Rescue and adopting a mixed breed brown cat. We fell in love with the kind demeanor of this cat and pursued the adoption of the purebred Willamina from a breeder. After adopting Willa, we learned more about the rare breed, and the mission of the Havana brown catteries to preserve and provide good homes for the Havana Brown breed.
Since then, we have opened our home to the Havana breed. We maintain the full belief that the breed, the shows, and the lifestyle of our cattery should remain much like the cats themselves: be full of life and happiness.
Our cats are kept indoors, spoiled endlessly, and can often be found lounging in cat trees, chasing the infamous red dot, darting through tunnels, or simply enjoying a nice lap while the household relaxes after a long day at work with a good cup of coffee or tea.
Our Mission
The mission of our cattery is to maintain the health and longevity of the Havana Brown breed. We strive to ensure that each and every cat that passes through our cattery gets the love and admiration that they deserve, not just as purebred cats, but as companions to our lives in general. We limit our breedings to just one to two litters a year, both for the health of our cats and to make sure that they receive the individual attention that they deserve as they grow through their kittenhood.
In conclusion…
It is a privilege to carry on the lifetime work of the breeders before us that created the genetics of the wonderful purebred cats that we have today. We would struggle to list them all and are afraid to mention many for fear of omitting someone who’s efforts have brought us this far. However, we would like to mention the following retired catteries who have contributed a great deal towards our cattery through their efforts:
Shelly Ducharme of Xocol Cattery whose wonderful cats are a part of our foundation and have received national awards.
Susan Hamrick of the Yofranlin Cattery, whose final intact show cat was introduced into our bloodlines to revive an incredibly sweet and beautiful line of cats that was one cat away from disappearing forever.
“They are alert, intelligent, affectionate and occasionally exhibit a mischievous personality.””
